I'm sure I say this at the end of every year, but boy 2012 went by in a flash didn't it? I think I'm still slightly in denial that it's actually come to an end. By all accounts it seems to have been a fast and furious year for most, and with so many great things happening in Britain, an eventful one. But I especially feel as if it was only yesterday I was writing this same post about 2011... That's why I like putting together a little photo/ blogging highlights post such as this (you know the type that no other bloggers do...) because sometimes you don't realise how much has happened and what you have achieved until you lay it all down and then suddenly it doesn't seem like such a fast year after all. I'd say 2012 has been one if those years which has rolled along just nicely, looking back there was something to look forward to and celebrate almost every month and I've been happy... Really happy actually, mostly thanks to GB who continues to make me laugh and smile every day.
January...

In January I tried running for the first time and surprised myself by actually enjoying it. I fell for designer, despite always calling myself a label free dresser and I continued my obsession with shiny shoes.
February...

I completed my very own 29 days of shoes challenge and realised how easy it is to achieve something when you put your mind to it. I attended my fourth season at LFW and fell in love with Sophie Hulme.
March...

Always a busy and wonderful month, I celebrated another birthday and got ready for spring with a new wardrobe. I visited Belgium for the first time, tried the dip dye effect on my hair and ate too much pommes frites.
April...

I watched and once again got inspired by the wonderful people running the London Marathon, I resurrected my love of Clueless and Cher's style, got myself an iPhone and I went pro with my baking tools for the ultimate icing designs.
May...

In May I officially lost the 'anonymous' part of the blog and showed my face for the first time. The first glimpse of Summer weather appeared and I celebrated with Strawberry Tarts in time for Wimbledon. I wrote an ode to Elie Saab, visited my first Buy my Wardrobe event and got to play designer at Upper Street.
June...

GB abandoned me for two weeks which meant an increased amount of blogging. The Jubilee celebrations gave us all a nice long weekend filled with sunshine (at least in Scotland) and I indulged in some family time at home, seeing the sights and baking up a storm. I broke my 5k barrier, signed up for the Race for Life, rewarded myself with some super sexy shoes, said a sad goodbye to the pink superbike and was officially introduced to Ciate.
July...

Not only did I complete the Race for Life but I also completed a personal best by running my first 10k. I visited Centreparks with work for a team building weekend, saw Wicked for a second time and loved it just as much and started dreaming of Summer with fruit strudels.
August...

Olympic fever hit London and sucked me in more than ever, I watched, I cheered, and I felt inspired. I celebrated three wonderful years with GB and he surprised me with a romantic trip to Paris for our anniversary. I did my first restaurant review, opened up the contents of my make up bag and channelled Audrey Hepburn for the month long heatwave.
September...

Fashion week rolled around once again with some true highlights including the Fashion Fringe, Christopher Raeburn and of course Charlie May's show.
October...

Our long awaited holiday finally came, just days after the madness of Fashion Week. I went offline for eleven blissful days while soaking up the sun in Greece.
November...

We returned from holiday to the firm announcement that Summer was over and Winter was coming. I went from bikinis and sandals to knitwear and fur before I even had time to show off my non existent tan. I caught up with Uni friend Hilary just in time to see her career begin to flourish, I celebrated the two inch heel along with GB's birthday and talked about bobble hats a lot.
December...

Before I knew it the Christmas festivities were upon us, I banged on about my Advent Calendar too much, won tickets to The Life of Pi and vowed to enter more competitions, made Jamie's Mulled Wine and then saw out the rest of the year in my wonderful motherland.
So what am I hoping for in 2013? Just like last years sentiment I'm not making any hard and fast resolutions.
I'm going to have a healthy living January to try and get my body back to normal. I'm going to put my running shoes back on, sign up to another charity run to give myself some motivation and perhaps even a half marathon this year if I'm feeling really adventurous. I'm going to invest in a new superbike, hopefully sooner rather than later as I miss cycling so much and it really does help me feel like I'm living a cleaner, healthier lifestyle and I'm going to aim to see my family more this year as having time altogether over Christmas made me realise how much I miss that.
But overall I prefer to have ambitions and goals for the future rather than resolutions as I feel they always tend to focus on negative aspects of our lives that we need to change.
So I guess my ambitions for 2013 are simple: work hard, save more, shop less but buy more desirable things, enjoy life and be happy.
I hope the 'be happy' part is one which will come true for all of us! Happy New Year Folks!
