Well the most inevitable yet wonderful event has finally happened. You may have already seen our news on social media but Stu and I are so proud to announce that after 9 months and 5 days of wondering, waiting and worrying, mini is here and our little night time wriggler has come to life as a beautiful baby girl!
Evie James Watt arrived into the world on Monday 27th February at 1.17pm (while storm Ewan raged on outside) weighing a healthy 7lb 15oz. I still can’t get my head around the fact we have managed to create something so perfect and no words can truly express just how much love we have for this tiny person of ours. From that magical moment when she was placed in our arms for the first time, we felt a subtle shift, aware that just like that everything had changed. Since then life has taken on a whole new purpose, an utterly lovely one, which she is at the centre of – we are parents.
4 days in and I still can’t quite believe that it is real and that this adorable little lady is ours to keep. We’ve been home from the hospital and fending for ourselves for a couple of days now, and even though it’s scary as hell and we’ve had tough moments, we are absolutely loving every single second of it and just can’t imagine our lives without Evie in them now.
Days and hours are blurring before us and it already seems like she is growing and changing faster than we have the time to record it. I’m going to take some time away from the blog to put all my energy into being a mum (eek) and soak up every sleep deprived second of this new adventure of ours.
Before I step away, I want to say a huge and heart felt thank you from both myself and Stu for all of the lovely messages of congrats that you have all extended our way in the last few days, and equally all of the support, understanding and excitement that you all shared along the way in my pregnancy journey. This internet community of ours really is wonderful at times! We are slowly working our way through replying to each comment, and are truly grateful for every piece of advice, private message, card or present that comes our way so again thank you, thank you, thank you.
For now I’m going to step back into this most wonderful of bubbles and beam my way through these early days of night time feeds, windy cuddles, and dirty bums where moments like Dad getting peed on and our little monster farting in her sleep just feel like some of the greatest and most memorable moments of our life!
Evie you are so precious, we feel so lucky to have you and our love for you is truly overwhelming.
Be right back!
