Since January 2014, Bumpkin Betty has been integrated into my freelance business and therefore where possible I aim to make a bit of money in order to keep those blog posts coming.
I work with Reward Style and Skimlinks (both affiliate programmes) to generate affiliate links on some (not all) of the products and brands I feature. This means that should you click through from one of my links and make a purchase, I’ll make a small (and I mean small) commission. I like to think of it as a thank you for the recommendation. It won’t make one iota of difference to you, but will make me feel a bit less guilty about buying another pair of shoes.
Any products featured on the blog which have been gifted to me by a brand or agency will be marked as such with c/o so you know what’s what. As you’ll see, it’s not that many. When I’ve been asked to review a restaurant, hotel or service I’ll always be honest at the bottom of the post informing you of whether the visit was complimentary but in these cases the opinions I express are still 100% my own and if I don’t like something I’ll tell you regardless of whether my meal was paid for or not.
Occasionally I collaborate with brands to create content and in these cases the posts are always marked as either ‘Sponsored post’or ‘in collaboration with’. In these cases it usually means I’ve been given some compensation to write the post but I only ever accept opportunities which are in-keeping with the overall themes of the blog and the opinions remain true. They just help me keep the blog going in the long term.
Cookies – you may find them on this blog. Both the sweet and delicious kind through a recipe post, as well as the not so sweet but pretty commonplace internet ones that you get notified about often.
I also work alongside Glam Media to host advertising on my site, this is where those cookies may come into play a little and you’ll see the occasional ad in the sidebar of the blog.

Lastly I’d just like to say thank you for supporting all of the content on Bumpkin Betty. It’s not easy running a blog long term and I hope that you can accept that occasionally I might need to work on sponsored content to keep things running. All of the money I make from this blog goes right back into it, paying for everything from the running costs of my website to technology which makes both of our lives easier and your reading of the blog more enjoyable.
